Metro Ethernet
Metro Ethernet has moved beyond its LAN origins to become a full-duplex, switched technology capable of meeting the long-range transport, bandwidth, geographical and capacity requirements of metro networking. It is a combination of speed, scalability, operational simplicity and economics that is driving Ethernet into metro networks. Driven by speed, scalability, operational simplicity and economics, Metro Ethernet adds important, carrier-oriented features to the Ethernet standard.
