Faraj Aalaei to Join Industry Leaders in Assessing Channelized Voice over DSL FREMONT, Calif., March 23, 2001 - Faraj Aalaei, CEO and co-founder of Centillium Communications, Inc. [NASDAQ: CTLM], innovator of broadband communications technology, will speak as a panelist at the ACI VoDSL Conference in New York, on Thursday, April 26 from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM EST. The panel, which is taking place at the New York Javits Center in Ballroom B, will address channelized voice over DSL (CVoDSL). Proponents of CVoDSL argue that this approach vastly reduces carrier expenses and simplifies network integration because an ATM or IP gateway is not required at the service provider's switch. However, gateway proponents have a strong counterpoint - gateways allow for much more flexibility and enable additional services that channelized voice cannot provide. Regardless of what view a person takes, the stakes are high - carriers are investing heavily in technologies that allow them to capture the residential market share. This session will explore both sides of the debate. Centillium is uniquely positioned as the first company that introduced products in CVoDSL in 1998 and currently leads the VoATM/IP in the packetized voice market with its Entropia product line. This leadership in both technologies provides Centillium with a broad view of this issue. Mr. Aalaei will be joined by: Peter Leblanc, vice president of marketing, Aware, Inc.; Jim Sackman, vice president and CTO, Advanced Fibre Communications; and David Frankel, CTO, Jetstream Communications.
