CHANGES NAME TO CENTILLIUM COMMUNICATIONS
New Name Reflects Centillium's
Focus on Expanding Communication Bandwidth
FREMONT, Calif., September 20, 1999 - Centillium Technology Corporation
has changed its name to Centillium Communications, Inc. The new company
name echoes Centillium's core strategy of developing complete system
solutions that expand communication bandwidth. Centillium's products
are full communication system solutions that include Digital signal
Processors (DSP), analog mixed signal, digital IC technologies, firmware,
and system integration capabilities.
"Centillium is widely known in the telecom and datacom industries
for providing the communication solutions that help make up the 'plumbing'
of the Internet," said A. Travis White, President and CEO of Centillium.
"Major networking equipment manufacturers choose our highly integrated
communications ICs because we incorporate all the necessary software
and system capabilities into one solution. Our new corporate name properly
reflects the fact that we are a total solutions company to the communication
industry."
Centillium also announced the opening of a new corporate headquarters
located at 47211 Lakeview Boulevard in Fremont, California. The new
facility is more than twice as large as Centillium's existing headquarters
and provides an option for further expansion in 2002. In addition to
providing more space for engineering, sales and marketing, finance,
and administrative groups, the new facility will enable Centillium to
significantly expand its research, development, and testing labs.
"We are pleased to be able to stay in the city of Fremont, where
the company was founded," said White. "We expected our current
facility to last longer than it did, but customer acceptance of our
products has been stronger than we anticipated, therefore we require
larger facilities sooner than expected.
