FREMONT, Calif. – Sept. 21, 1998 – Centillium Technology Corporation, a leader and innovator in the emerging market for DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) chip set solutions, announced today that it has named William F. Mackenzie as its Vice President of Operations. Prior to joining Centillium, Mackenzie was Director of Customer Quality and Reliability systems at LSI Logic.
Mackenzie will oversee Centillium’s operations, customer support, and manufacturing services, including manufacturing technology, test, quality, reliability, and logistics. He will report directly to Centillium President and CEO A. Travis White.
"I worked closely with William for more than five years at LSI Logic Corporation of Canada, where he consistently demonstrated the ability to create and lead large teams of people," said A. Travis White, President and CEO of Centillium. "William brings to Centillium a successful track record in managing volume manufacturing, contract assembly, and quality assurance. His appointment enhances our ability to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions as we prepare for volume production of our DSL chip sets."
Mackenzie Brings Experience in Product Manufacturing and Quality Assurance
William F. Mackenzie joins Centillium after spending more than eight years with LSI Logic in Canada and the United States, and before that, four years with Motorola in Scotland.
With extensive experience in the design and manufacture of semiconductor devices, boards, and system-level products, Mackenzie understands the multifaceted challenges facing manufacturers of telecom equipment. During his tenure at LSI Logic, Mackenzie achieved ISO 9001 for the Canadian design and manufacturing operations and was instrumental in the significant growth of the company.
"I was selected for this position because of my strong commitment to quality and customers," said Mackenzie. "I want to build an operation that customers will want to do business with."
