POSITION SUMMARY:

As part of the System Engineering group, you will be responsible for the system level validation of voice convergence products. This will require you to work with the Voice and Network design groups and other system engineers to gain a good working knowledge of multiple components. Using this knowledge you will write a validation plan and design a validation system for implementation, as well as write the necessary software to automate the process. You will also help resolve customer issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Gain a strong working knowledge of the product line and related ATM/IP packet voice technology and system components.
• Standard compliance validation particularly with regard to ATM/IP and voice over cell/packet networks.
• Write system validation plans.
• Design system software for validation boards.
• Write validation software and scripts.
• Generate validation reports.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in ATM/IP networks.
• Strong C programming skills.
• Working knowledge of automated test software such as Lab View.
• Good documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of team.
• Knowledge of telephony signaling protocols desired.
• Knowledge of voice over ATM/IP would be an advantage.
• Good communication/customer management skills.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
