POSITION SUMMARY:

As part of the Systems engineering group, you will be involved with projects from their conception through production release. The primary area of responsibility will be for an access product that combines a DSL modem, network processor and telephony gateway. This will require you to work with design groups and other system engineers to understand Centillium network access products, components, requirements, and the system integration environment. Your objectives will be to develop test plans and procedures, ensure system functionality, performance and testability, as well as standards compliance. In addition, you will work with design and application groups to bring up the final product and resolve customer issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with design teams to ensure product functionality, performance, testability and standards compliance
  
• Generate and implement the overall test plans and procedures for network access products
  
• Specify and implement new test infrastructure
  
• Lead the test engineering team in the lab from product bring up through production release also work with the design groups.
  
• Work with target customers to bring up vendor specific solutions

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires an individual with good all round engineering knowledge and abilities. Strong communications skills are essential, along with the ability to work as a part of a multi-disciplined engineering team.

• At least 3 years experience as a lead test engineer for telecommunications and or data communications products
  
• Successful track record of product test development, must have been responsible for overall test plan generation and implementation from concept to production; experience in a IC development environment is preferred
  
• Experience in telecom/datacom system and hardware/firmware integration environment with preferred focus on ATM and DSL technologies. Knowledge of at least two of the following is very desirable: TCP/IP, IP encapsulation over ATM, voice over ATM, routing, firewall, NAT, VPN
  
• Working knowledge of test automation methods and practice
  
• Ability to work independently and to lead a test engineering team
  
• Strong communication and documentation skills

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• BSEE with 7+ years of experience or MSEE with 5+ years experience.
