infoRouter is designed to look and function similar to the Microsoft Windows Explorer. Folders are displayed on the left, and files (documents) are displayed on the right. |
To navigate effectively, take note of some of the special links in infoRouter. These are: |

Displays this help file |
Find: |
Clicking on this link allows you to search for documents. If full-text indexing is enabled, typing a word or phrase in this box will check for documents that contain the specified word or phrase. If full-text indexing is not enabled, then infoRouter will return a list of documents that have the specified word or phrase in the document description and user-defined keywords. For a more refined search, use the advanced search utility. |
Advanced Search: |
Clicking on this link will display the find screen, which allows you to search for documents quickly and effectively. For more on this topic, see Advanced Search. |
My Subscriptions: |
Clicking on this link allows you to subscribe to documents and folders just as you would to magazines. infoRouter sends out automatic e-mail notifications to its subscribers when documents change or when new documents are created in subscription folders. Clicking on this link displays a list of such documents regardless of where they are in the system. For more on this topic, see Subscriptions. |
My Documents: |
Clicking on this link will display a list of your documents, regardless of where they are in the system. Clicking on any document in this list will take you immediately to that file, without having to navigate to the folder that it is actually stored in. |
Checked Out Documents: |
Clicking on this link will display all the documents that are currently checked out to you for editing. |
Favorites: |
Clicking on this link will display a list of Favorites, which work exactly like boomarks in your browser. Favorites help you navigate immediately to folders that might be buried deep within the folder structure. To add to your Favorites, navigate to the folder you wish to add and then click on the Add To Favorites link. |
Control Panel: |
Clicking on this link will display the infoRouter Control Panel window which allows you to perform administrative functions such as adding users, creating domains, creating and editing user groups, etc. Note: The Control panel is only visible to the System Administrator. |
Changing Password & Email information: |
To change your personal information, click on your name which appears just above the left-hand panel in the blue banner. This will display a window where you can update your password and email address. |
